Marintex x PortXL Hackathon
This hackathon is an innovation challenge designed for university students to address challenges present in the maritime industry today. For this hackathon, Marintex is partnering with PortXL, the world's first and one of the leading global maritime accelerators. The problem statements can be found below.
THE CHALLENGE STATEMENTS
University students will team up (2-5 people) to ideate and develop solutions for the outlined problem statements, pitching their prototypes to the jury board.
HUMAN ERROR
Human error is responsible for over 80% of maritime accidents, often with fatal consequences. Think about a solution that can assist with reducing human error in maritime operations — keep it realistic and small-scale for the purpose of this hackathon.
SUSTAINABILITY
The world is on a difficult journey to net zero. A key aspect is to optimize our energy use. Think about ways to manage and optimize energy use on a vessel or in land-based port operations. The solution can be software, hardware, or a combination of both.
